As most of you know, we're brand owners ourselves and just as slammed as you guys are making deliveries, juggling dollars, paying off overdue FedEx invoices, and hyping the new gear. I'm more excited than ever this year to share what we've been working hard on. There's nothing more satisfying than to see people connecting with our projects out in the wild.
You may have heard some rumors recently about the business side over here at P&L HQ. We were approached by parties interested in taking a stake in the show almost immediately on the announcement of it's founding. There would have been immediate financial and security benefits from bringing in a partner, but at the time we didn't need the money or connections to make the show happen.
Our focus is on snowboarding, not trade shows. Parts & Labor was founded in order to foster and support a healthy and creative marketplace for our the snowboarding industry. If greater investment in the trade show world is ultimately better for all of us, and we find a partner that understands and honors the core mission of our project we'll start taking calls again.
In the meantime, P&L is ultimately just a space where the snowboarding community can meet on it's own terms. A trade show is just an empty room without all of you. Snowboarding can feel like a small world, but it's a hell of a lot bigger than a trade show.
